Keep Your POS Online.
Even When Your ISP Isn't.
Every card payment, online order, and kitchen display depends on a single internet connection. When that line goes down (due to a fiber cut, ISP outage, or hardware failure,) everything stops.
How it Works
| Continuous health checks | Pronto routers ping DNS servers, cloud gateways, and custom health-check URLs over the primary connection — tracking latency, packet loss, and availability in real time, not just whether the link is physically up. |
| Sub-4-second failure detection | The moment the primary link fails or drops below quality thresholds, the failover sequence begins. The PC61-C4G initiates in under 4 seconds — faster than any competing device in its class. |
| Automatic cellular activation | The embedded LTE/5G modem authenticates via physical SIM or multi-carrier eSIM and begins routing traffic. POS terminals, kiosks, kitchen displays, and guest Wi-Fi continue without manual intervention. |
| Zero disruption at the terminal | The IP address and gateway stay unchanged. The POS terminal sees no network drop, no VPN reconnect, no payment processor timeout. In-flight transactions complete normally. |
| Automatic return to primary | Security: WPA3, encrypted per session |
Products
Competing failover devices takes 8–20 seconds to detect failure. At that speed, transactions drop, queues form, and staff scramble. Pronto’s failover is configurable and can be tuned for your requirement.

Your Questions, Answered by Intelligence
We’ve engineered Pronto to simplify complex enterprise networks. Here’s how it all comes together — from setup to scalability.
What happens to in-flight transactions when the ISP drops?
Because the IP address and gateway stay constant during failover, the POS terminal sees no network disruption. In-flight transactions complete normally. The PC61-C4G switches in under 4 seconds — below the timeout threshold of every major payment processor.
Is cellular failover the same as SD-WAN?
No. Cellular failover is a single automatic switchover from wired to cellular when the primary link fails. SD-WAN orchestrates traffic across multiple WAN types using software policies. For 1–10 location operators, failover is sufficient. SD-WAN earns its keep at 50+ sites with mixed WAN topologies.
How much cellular data does a failover event use?
POS transactions are lightweight: 5–20 MB per terminal per hour during normal operation. A multi-terminal restaurant through a one-hour outage uses well under 100 MB total. Pronto’s bundled cellular plans are sized to handle full-time backup operation without surprise overages.
Does this meet PCI-DSS requirements?
Yes. Pronto creates isolated VLANs for payment terminals, back-office systems, and guest Wi-Fi. Traffic between zones is blocked at the hardware level. WPA3 encryption and per-session security apply across both wired and cellular uplinks.
How quickly can I add a new store location?
With zero-touch provisioning, the PC61-C4G authenticates to Pronto Cloud on first boot, pulls the correct policy, and begins protecting POS connectivity within minutes. No on-site IT visit required.
Can I manage failover across 50+ stores from one dashboard?
Yes. The Pronto Cloud Controller provides fleet-wide visibility over every device, uplink state, and failover event. Policies set once propagate automatically. REST API integration lets you push network health data into your ITSM or POS management platform.
